Two Girls And An Easy Bake

I LOVE the Easy Bake oven….well, I’ll be honest and say that I love the IDEA of the Easy Bake oven.  I remember having one when I was a little girl.  Ruthie got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas in 2010.  I can count on one hand the times we’ve actually used it.  Although it’s called an Easy Bake, it’s not real easy for mom, right!?  Anyway, I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer on the EBO in this post.  It really is fun for her but it’s just one of those things that we kind of have to plan to do.  So recently, Ruthie invited her good friend, and neighbor, Rachel to come and bake with her. Before Rachel got here, she wanted to heat up her oven and try it out.  So she melted some chocolate and made chocolate dipped marshmallows. And of course you can’t melt chocolate without lickin’ the bowl!!  By the way, she and Tobin alternate riding with their daddy to church on Sunday mornings.  They always stop by Krispie Kreme to get donuts for everybody….and that’s where she got the hat.

After the marshmallow dipping, we went ahead made up some mixes.  We have to be mindful of our allergies even when we Easy Bake.  The packaged mixes are not allergy free for us.  Plus they are costly!!She was measuring for a Pretty in Pink cake here.We made mixes for a Pretty in Pink cake, tea cake cookies and pizza.Welcome to Ruthie’s and Rachel’s kitchen.Love seeing their smiles!!They were so serious.  Even put on their own cooking show.  Lilly, Tobin and I were the judges!!

These were the tea cakes.  I think they would be better named Sprinkle cakes.  And into the oven they go.  I just can’t help but smile at these sweet pictures!!Ding Ding!!  They’re ready!!After the cookies, cake and pizza, we dipped more marshmallows…..can you tell?

Oh…and umm….by the way…don’t ever leave the “pusher” tool inside the oven.  These words are clearly imbedded on the thing and uh…yep, we found out why.  :)  But we also found there is a great place to purchase replacement parts online!!

Want our recipes?  You can print them here Gluten Free Pink Cake, Gluten Free Pizza and Tea Cakes I wrote these up as gluten free.  If you CAN eat gluten, just substitute all-purpose flour for all of the flours that you see listed.  To make a mix, just combine your dry ingredients in an airtight container and label it with the wet ingredients and instructions.  And you are ready to Easy Bake!!  Enjoy!!

These recipes were adapted from some that I found here.
