Well it’s that time again!! Happy Monday!!
This week’s Main Dish is just a little different than normal. In my house, it’s technically NOT a Main Dish because it lacks meat. Are you or your husbands like that?? I can certainly go without meat but not my man. 😉
However, even though this dish doesn’t contain meat, it is still VERY filling. This is one of my most favorite meals, especially with a salad on the side. And it comes together in minutes…..literally!
Start with some fresh pasta.
This is what I use…
You can find fresh pasta in the dairy/cheese aisle at your favorite grocery store. You could also use dried or frozen. Just make sure it’s plain…meaning no sauce.
Cook it according to its package directions in salted water.
For 1 serving, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with one to two sprigs of fresh thyme in a small saute’ pan. Let this melt and put the heat on medium.
You want to let the butter get brown. NOT BURNED. This is the trickiest part because there is a fine line between browned butter and burned butter. It doesn’t take a long time and it’ll start to smell nice and nutty.
I could have let this batch go a little longer to get a bit more brown. It should have a nice golden color.
Pour this yummy perfection over the cooked ravioli and top with Parmesan cheese. And it truly is incredibly delicious!!
This will be all that is left.Add your favorite salad or a light soup to round it out.
Ravioli With Browned Butter And Thyme
1/2 a 9 oz package of your favorite fresh ravioli
2 tablespoons butter
2 sprigs fresh thyme
Cook ravioli according to package directions in salted water. While ravioli is boiling, melt and brown 2 tablespoons of butter with 2 sprigs of fresh thyme. Once pasta is done, drain and place on your plate. Top with browned butter sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
