Time really does keep on slippin’ into the future!! I really can’t believe the holiday season is here already!!! We’ve had such a busy October so I’m going to post a little….well it probably won’t be little…overview of what October was like for the Sewells.
We have taken lots of afternoon walks in and around our back yard.
This is one of our favorite places to go and throw rocks.
And we’ve enjoyed the cooler nights around the fire pit.
We’ve already had numerous hot dog and marshmallow roasts.
And hot chocolate!! ![]()
No pre-made packets for us. This recipe is simple, quick and it doesn’t require a microwave. And that’s good because we don’t have one…..I know!! Can you believe it??
Take 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 4 tablespoons of sugar, 4 tablespoons of water, 2 cups of milk and a splash of vanilla.
Put everything except the milk and vanilla in a small saucepan and whisk.
I LOVE my flat whisk for this job!! It gets in all the nooks and crannies!
Once everything is combined, add 2 cups of milk and the splash of vanilla and warm it until it’s heated through….but NOT boiling!!
Grab some mini marshmallows and your favorite cups
And enjoy!!
This is perfect for these chilly nights!!
Hot Chocolate For Two

4 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons water
2 cups of milk
a splash of vanilla
Whisk together the first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once combined, whisk in the milk and vanilla. Cook until heated through. Top with marshmallows and enjoy!!
