Fun in the sun!!!

in family, kids

Gonna do a little REWIND here!!  We had a very busy weekend!  Saturday we had an RCS (Ridgecrest Christian School) picnic to celebrate THE END OF SCHOOL!!!!  Although fun, picnics are a little more difficult for us because we can’t just show up and eat what is being served but I have to make sure I bring allergy safe food for my youngest two.  So I made boxed brownies for the crowd and these chocolate cupcakes for my crew.  And I just wasn’t mentally prepared for all that picnics entail….packing up a quilt, 1000 chairs to sit in, capri suns and water bottles, swim suits, towels, extra clothes, food, Benedryl, EpiPens, etc.  I promise we looked like a band of gypsies!  By the time the picnic was said and done I was tuckered out!!  So we came home, I put on my swimsuit and soaked up some rays while RG, TW, and LC played in water. We started out playing with our sponge balls and moved to the buckets.

As you can see here, Lilly now has bangs….this was her own doing. :(  I’m not a fan of bangs.  They don’t bother me on other people but I don’t like them for myself or my girls for some reason.  It’s one of those things that I just don’t like.  When I was in the second grade I decided to grow out my bangs and I really never looked back (except for a short time in middle school….but every body does crazy things in middle school!).  I’ll be swooping these babies to the side until they grow out again and when she’s old enough to choose, she can choose bangs if she wants to.  Bangs or no bangs, that is the question!  I personally choose the later!  And that’s remnants of a chocolate cupcake around her mouth. And she’s getting a touch of puffy face from her steroid slurry.  It’s probably only noticeable to me….

Here is an example of the reason why I refuse to spend a lot of money on toys and such.  They’d rather play with a toy box!  This bucket holds our outside toys but is super fun when you fill it with water!!

*sigh* I’d love to spend every moment of every day doing this right here!!

This was such a perfect way to spend our afternoon!  I did pick up a small pool today and all 3 of them have played outside all afternoon!  A GREAT start to our summer!!

looks like so much fun! I wish I could still fit in a tub like that. I remember those days so well growing up…they are memories that I LOVE to look back on, just like your kids will too. Happy Summer!
