Fun Father’s Day Ideas

Father’s day is a tough “holiday” for me!! I never know what to buy, what to do to celebrate…etc.!! I always feel like I drop the ball. But this year I had a cute idea and I hope the dad’s who receive it will smile as well.

My husband, Keith, has been asking for something specific for several years now.  This year, we finally decided to give it to him!!  We started out with a few canvases, paint and paint brushes and we got to work!!  As you can see, this is hard hard serious work!! Keith has been wanting wall art from the children for his office for a long time now.  So, I picked the color scheme and things went from there.

I tried my best to offer very little assistance.Lilly started out with the paintbrush…..Then started with her fingers……And then she just decided to go ahead and us her whole hand!We were so excited and Keith is like a kid at Christmas when he knows presents are around so we decided to go ahead and let him have this today…two days early.  He’ll, of course, get the rest of his present on Sunday….and no earlier!!  I MEAN it!!!His diploma was here on the mantel but this just looks so much better and adds so much more color to his office!!He LOVED them!!!

The other dad’s in our lives are getting another cute gift!!  I LOVE the clear acrylic paint cans that I always see at craft stores.  So I bought a couple of cans and some cute manly scrapbook paper.Measured, cut and rolled….And stuffed’em with some goodies.  My dad raises, rides, and trains horses.  So a gift card to Tractor Supply Co. and some trail mix seemed right.Papa (my father-in-law) is in love with the Tractor Supply Co. too so he gets the same goodies.I roughly free-handed a tie pattern and then traced and cut one out of the printed paper.  And used double sided tape to stick it to the can.So simple! So handsome!

I hope you have a very enjoyable weekend celebrating the men in your life!

Happy Father’s Day!!

The artwork looks great on the mantel. What little artists you have… I’m thinking I need to run out and get crafty and take back Will’s swimsuit that I bought at TJ Maxx. ha!

😉 I honestly never know WHAT in the WORLD to do!! He always does so good for Mother’s Day and my birthday….I’m still not sure exactly how we’ll celebrate on Sunday.

You are so silly Allyson!! Don’t be giving me too much credit!! I told April S. that I have to craft because it’s cheaper (most of the time). The total cost for the canvases was $11….can’t beat that!! 😉 Hugs!!
