It’s that time again!! Back-to-school time. I LOVE back-to-school time. LOVE buying paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, glue. I’m addicted really. 😉
We started school last week. Ruthie was VERY excited!! She is all about pretty pens and having workbooks and pages to do. She’s a VERY easy student!! and Tobin……not so much. He doesn’t mind school, but nor does he look forward to it. He’s the typical 6 year old. Hates putting pencil to paper. But loves getting messy with art projects and SNACKS!!!I wondered how this year was going to go since Lilly is older and no longer takes a morning nap.But she hangs in there with us the entire time. She’s very good about getting a book, puzzle, blocks, a doll or something to keep her occupied. She WILL pipe up when it comes to counting out loud AND she loves to join in with the art projects. Yes, this 4th piece of paper here at the bottom of this picture belongs to me. You know I can’t resist a good art project!!! These actually turned out so well that I’ve framed them and going to hang them in the upstairs hallway. For art, I am using Mary Lea’s (from Pink and Green Mama) Exploring Great Artists Lesson Plans. I LOVE it!! It’s 12 lessons for $10 (we do 1 lesson a week). You can easily purchase and download from her website. I’ve printed mine out and put it in a 3 ring binder. This week we studied about Wassily Kandinsky and then made our own version of his Concentric Circles. So fun!!!Happy Back To School!!!
